Brian Trout is a San Diego polymath, fueled by a contagious passion for handcrafted quality. Frequently, he can be found brewing beer, making cider, mead, kombucha, cheese, mustard, roasting coffee, cold smoking, and experimenting with wild fermented foods.

Currently, he serves as an active member of QUAFF, Mash Heads, & Barley Engineers (Homebrewing Clubs), President & Founder of SD Craft Cider, Instructor of numerous Pairing, Brewing & Cider Workshops around town, BJCP, Mead Judge, Certified Cicerone, Certified Cider Professional, Professional Cider Judge (sensory trained), and contributing writer for Beer Advocate & WestCoaster magazines.

Brian has won numerous awards both regionally and nationally including HomeBrewer of the Year 2011-2012, 2014, and 2016.
